QUALIFICATION: Paramedic degree

TRAINING SCHEDULE:

The training session consists of a total of 630 hours of theory and clinic lessons in a training and internship institute, divided as such:

  • Training institute studies: 13 weeks, that is, a total of 455 hours
  • Internship in a clinic and company: 5 weeks, that is, a total of 175 hours

ADMISSION CONDITIONS

The training is available to candidates:

  • Holding a valid driving license (3 years of driving or 2 years in case of driving with a qualified driver)
  • Holding a prefectorial ability certification of ambulance driving after medical examination completed according to the terms of the R.221-10 article of the driving rules and regulations.
  • Holding a non-contraindication medical certificate of paramedic delivered by a recognised doctor.
  • Holding a vaccination medical certificate in compliance with the current regulations fixing the immunisation conditions of the health sector professionals of France.
  • Succeeded in the entry exams: they consist of a written and an oral admission test

THE JOB

The paramedic transport wounded persons and patients by specially adapted vehicles: ambulances to transport patients who need to be laying and light sanitary vehicles for seated patients.

He also ensure:

  • Placing the patients in optimal comfortable and secured positions
  • The surveillance of the patients' medical health situation and taking medical dispositions
  • Collecting and transferring information and documents required for pursuing the treatment
  • Applying first aid when necessary and according to his work assignments
  • Controlling the vehicle to ensure it functions correctly
  • Working with medical and paramedical teams, administrative services as well as SAMU paramedics regulators
  • Participating in the logistics in terms of emergency transportation to face exceptional situations
  • The paramedics can work for both the private of public sector

EMT

DURATION: the training last for 70 hours

QUALIFICATION: EMT training certificate

TRAINING SCHEDULE:

Training in hygiene, professional ethics, handling gestures, rules of sanitary transportation and emergency gestures to obtain AFGSU 2.

ADMISSION CONDITIONS

The EMT must hold:
